Your classic Upper East Side "dinner and a movie" date is on the itinerary tonight, starting with a laid back meal at The District. Soak up the industrial-chic setting at this leveled-up sports bar with high ceilings dotted with Edison lights bulbs, floor to ceiling windows, and outdoor seating. Depending on the weather you can enjoy indoor or outdoor seating—just the thing for spring! Sip on one of their signature cocktails, like The District Iced Tea, a New York twist on Southern sweet tea, while noshing on some traditional bar fare with a gourmet influence.
Afterward, head over to East 86th St. Cinema for a good ol’ fashioned movie night. Built in 1943, this intimate theater has four screens that show blockbuster hits and the occasional indie flicks. With limited options, it makes selecting a film that much easier—it’s the type of place you go for a bit of nostalgia that delivers on the simple, no-frills experience. The seating is spacious and while it may not have the fanciest lounge seating, just raise the middle armrest to cozy up to your boo.
