Dance Like There's No Tomorrow At The Get Down (Sans Hangover)
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Tonight's plan is inspired by another couple we love, Dame Products (they made the first amazing sex toy specifically for couples) co-founder, Alex Fine, and her husband. Recently we saw Alex checked out The Get Down, so naturally, we had to wear army pants and flip-flops and also go to The Get Down. They had us at, "it's about music, it's about movement, and it's about love." The party’s known for its diverse crowd, welcoming people of all shapes, sizes, and ages who come to dance their hearts out. Producer and resident DJ Tasha Blank teams up with guest DJs to spin a high-energy, house-heavy mix of blissful beats that will leave you drenched in sweat and smiling from ear-to-ear. Buy tickets ahead of time, because it’s super popular and gets crowded. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and finishes early so you can actually have a day tomorrow.
After you dance your hearts out, go to Art Bar to unwind. A West Village staple for over 20 years, this place still feels like the new, "in" bar of the neighborhood. We love sitting in the booth up front with our favorite couple friends, or cozying up in the oversized couch in the back living room where there's also a glorious fireplace and gallery exhibits from local artists. A basic pub menu is available, and the digital jukebox is kept at a festive but reasonable volume, making this a suitable place to talk the night away.
