Chow Down on Authentic Indian Food in a Cozy, Colorful Joint on the Lower East Side

Tonight's date on the Lower East Side is all about pairing the authentic with the bold, starting with Indian food at The MasalaWala. Established in 2011 by a son who wanted to help his father have a fun retirement (#goals), it's the kind of cozy, colorful locale you'll want to curl up in. We love the kati rolls, their variety of chaats (a mixture of potato pieces, crisp fried bread, and tangy-salty spices), and the tandoori-grilled meats.

Afterward, head to The Skinny Bar & Lounge for your nightcap. It's laid-back and upbeat—perfect for a midweek "pick-us-up." You and your love will be enjoying great drinks, great DJs, and friendly management, in an art-filled space. It's a great spot on the LES to wrap up your night. There are even rumored 25-cent wings on Wednesday nights—we think you should confirm.
