If the description “seafood and Rosé-centric” doesn’t totally entice you, then maybe the fact that you can pour your own wine to the brim when you order it will. At The Poni Room, an eccentric American Izakaya spot slashed with bright colors and a modern vibe, you and your love can get seriously good and boozy with a wide range of small plates. Everything from salmon tartare (trout roe, avocado, cucumber, rice chip, cherry wood smoke) to crispy pork belly (cucumber, chili caramel) promises to enrapture your tastebuds and pair well with the seductive rosé concoction you’re drinking—and get you in the mood for fun with your person.
Keep your night alive and fresh by strolling over to neighborhood kickback bar and garden Bonnie Vee for a few more drinks and a warm, friendly place to chat and mellow out. It’s cozy, intimate and low-lit if you feel like settling inside, but the garden’s where it’s really at, with ample plush seats and a laid-back vibe to down your chilled Jessica Rabbit (Thai chili-infused tequila, strawberry, lime juice, agave) or Pleasant Demise (gin, St. George’s spiced pear, lemon, housemade grenadine, thyme, Pechauds Bitters) in. Pro tip: there’s a photo booth downstairs.
