The Pyramid Club x Maharlika
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
There’s nothing wrong with living in the past—just ask The Pyramid Club. Tonight, this East Village club is hosting Friday Night Fever, allowing your and your S.O. to travel back to the 1980s and embrace your vintage spirit. The music is decade-specific, drinks cost about as much as they did 30 years ago, and dancing is very much encouraged in this no-frills venue. Basically, this place will completely cure you of your nostalgic blues. Doors open at 8pm, and the cover charge is $8 ($6 if you show them this flyer).
Next, once you’ve gotten your ‘80s fix, head over to the very modern, very hip Filipino restaurant Maharlika. This small, but charming eatery is surrounded by brick walls, cottage-esque shiplap ceilings, and scattered pops of blue at the bar and on the booths to complement their bold, exotic flavors—specifically the Sizzling Sisig (served on a sizzling cast-iron skillet), baked goat shank, and Bibingka. And in case you don’t already feel saturated enough in Filipino culture, there’s a sign on the wall with a Tagalog “word of the day” (though don’t expect it to help you order food in the restaurant’s native tongue).
