Do As The Aussies Do With Dinner & An Open Mic Night In Astoria
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Tonight’s date is about koalas and comedy, all going down in Astoria—starting with an Australian dinner. The Thirsty Koala brings the flavor of the Outback to Queens with seasonal delicacies and indigenous ingredients in many of the dishes on the menu. There’s a wide range of options—from healthy, plant-based dishes to Aussie grilled hanger steak. Be sure to peek their wine list that has a wide selection of whites and reds from Australia and New Zealand. Happy Hour goes until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, with $5 drinks, cocktails, and select beers and wine (you may want a little liquid courage for the next part of the night).
After dinner, head over to the women-owned and operated event space, Q.E.D. for the I Love You Open Mic night. This event is a fun and supportive weekly tradition (every Tuesday!) that welcomes comics of any level. You can sign up for your turn on the mic or sit back and share some laughs. Beer, wine, soda, and snacks are available for purchase and help keep the event free, so consider doing your part to support. It’s good vibes only here, so be ready to cheer on those brave souls testing out their material in front of a new crowd. Space is limited, so reserve your spot online in advance here.
