Too Hot To Handel: The Gospel Messiah x Bar 180
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Begin a new holiday tradition this year by witnessing the metamorphosis of the traditional "Handel’s The Gospel Messiah". Introducing Latin rhythms, jazz improvisation, and gospel harmony, The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra teamed up with the Fort Washington Community Choir to bring you this popular classic infused with unique uptown vibes that feature the colorful and electric sounds of Washington Heights. The performance also features soloists including Angela Birchett (The Color Purple, Smokey Joe's Cafe), and American Idol finalist Anwar Robinson. Prepare yourself for a performance that the New York Post described as “the jazziest, most soulful reinterpretation of Handel’s Messiah you’ll ever hear”. The concert starts at 3 p.m.
Afterward, stay with the transformational theme, and walk over to Bar 180. Born from the desire to showcase craft beer in a unique way, they offer 20 beers on tap that rotate daily, ranging from stouts to sours, hoppy to amber and light to fruity, so going back is always a new experience.
