If you’re looking for something that is equal parts stylish and sophisticated but also want to expand your taste buds, head to Toriko. Fashioned out of natural wood, raw cement, exposed reclaimed rafters, and traditional Japanese lattice accents, Toriko is an elegant gem in Greenwich Village, where dipping your food into sauces doesn’t dock it points for delicacy. This minimalistically-designed restaurant specializes in Yakitori (aka skewered chicken) but with an elegant edge.
After you’ve had your fix of fancy, head to Molly’s Cupcakes for a sweet, aesthetically-impressive (non-alcoholic) nightcap. With a charming layout—complete with swinging bar seats, a white-and-blonde palette, and a yellow, French bistro-esque facade—the main standout at Molly’s Cupcakes is, of course, the cupcakes themselves, which just so happened to win the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and land a spot in USA Today’s “10 Best Cupcake Bakeries in the Country.” They also offer pastries outside of the cupcake family, like brownies and pies.
