The Best Places To Go For Happy Hour in NYC

With literally tens of thousands of bars and restaurants to choose from, it’s tricky deciding where to go. Luckily, we’ve rounded up some of the happiest happy hours around the city.

01

i Trulli

124 E 27th Street, Manhattan

01

Family-owned since 1994, Nonna Dora still makes nearly all of the pasta by hand daily at i Trulli. If that’s not enough, its daily happy hour (5 - 7:00 pm) boasts a handful of drinks for $7. There’s also a variety of snacks from fried artichokes to calzones for under $8.

02

The Cellar at Beecher's

900 Broadway, Manhattan

Not only are the mac & cheese and handmade cheeses at The Cellar amazing, but the daily happy hour isn’t bad either (3 - 7:00 p.m.). You can try the famous mac for $10 and pair it with an $8 glass of wine or pick from a slew of other drinks and snacks for $7, $8 and $10.

03

Maya

1191 First Avenue, Manhattan

Maya

1191 First Avenue, Manhattan

A bit upscale and a neighborhood favorite, this modern Mexican restaurant serves delicious varieties of guacamole and heartier treats starting at $6, and drinks under $10, including select cocktails, sangrias, and specialty margaritas daily starting at 4 or 5:00 p.m. until close. The only caveat is you have to find space in the usually crowded bar and lounge areas.

04

Excuse My French

96 Orchard Street, Manhattan

04

This contemporary bistro offers a modern spin on French cuisine with tapas, as well as a two for one drink deal throughout the week (times vary). The restaurant‘s site also posts cool suggestions for French activities around the city to experience.

05

The Mermaid Inn

Locations in 570 Amsterdam Avenue, 96 Second Avenue, 79 Macdougal Street, and 23rd & 10th

The Mermaid Inn

These well-known but oft-overlooked seafood and raw bar spots offer a daily happy hour with $1.25 East Coast oysters, select beers for $6, and select wines and cocktails for $8.50. There’s an expansive regular-priced menu to drool over also, so get there early and make your way through all the offerings.

06

2nd Floor Bar & Essen

1442 First Avenue

2nd Floor Bar & Essen

1442 First Avenue

We were wary also when the famed 2nd Avenue Deli opened an upstairs bar and lounge. But, the drinks are good and there’s snack size versions of some of the most popular dishes. Plus, its daily happy hour offers a house cocktail and half a sandwich for $22. And, if you’ve ever had one of their oversized sandwiches, you know it’s a deal.

07

Trophy Bar

351 Broadway, Brooklyn

07

Super laid back with a knowledgeable bar staff, a patio, and DJs spinning every night, the bar offers daily happy hours starting at 4 p.m. during the week, and Noon on the weekends. You can get burgers (of the veggie or meat variety), tasty shots and cocktails all under $10.

08

Lavender Lake

383 Carroll Street, Brooklyn

Lavender Lake

With warmer temps hopefully coming soon, take advantage of this indoor/outdoor spot. You can shake off your Monday Blues with its all-day Monday happy hour, or 4 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. They’ve got tacos and grilled cheese (and other bites) starting at $7 and drink deals starting at $3. Yes. $3.
