The Best Spots To Bring Your Dog Along On Date Night

Now that summer’s over, we figured you’ll need a pick me up before the cool weather really sets in. Kick off this fall season by bringing your dog along for a few dates. Get the leash and treats ready because we have 8 dates for you, your partner and your dog to enjoy!

01

Boris and Borton

195 Avenue A, Manhattan

01

Take a seat at Boris and Borton, a dog-friendly coffee shop serving specialty lattes, pastries, cheese plates and a beautiful view of your own dog sitting next to you! This shop was NYC’s first dog-friendly cafe and provides a comfortable setting to chill out with your pup. To top it off, they have a small shop that sells dog clothes and treats for you to take home.

02

Barking Dog

1678 Third Avenue, Manhattan

Barking Dog

Barking Dog is a dog-themed restaurant welcoming all canine-families for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even Sunday brunch. Come for the cafe-style food, but stay for the doggy fountain located in the outdoor seating area. Your dog can play and make friends while you dig in. Even if your dog barks, you know you’re in good company with the rest of the crowd. Heads up: If you go for their famous Sunday brunch, try to get there early as the line usually wraps around the block.

03

William Secord Gallery

29 West 15th Street 4th floor, Manhattan

William Secord Gallery

29 West 15th Street 4th floor, Manhattan

We’ll assume if you own a dog, you’re a dog person. That being said, let’s take your love for dogs to to the next level at the William Secord Gallery. This art gallery showcases a ton of dog paintings, sculptures, and books. After staring at a bunch of dog art, you might be interested in taking home your own painting. Lucky enough, this gallery commissions custom dog portraits so you can have one of your own! Now that’s some art your pup will have to appreciate.

04

The Wilson NYC

132 West 27th Street, Manhattan

04

Start your night out with dinner at The Wilson NYC, a New-American restaurant with an upscale vibe. What makes this place extra special is that they have an actual menu for dogs. If your pet has been extra good lately, consider ordering the grilled rib eye steak or the pan roasted salmon. For you and your significant other, we recommend unique plates like the blue crab carbonara or the almond ricotta ravioli. Regardless of the fall weather approaching, you can sit outside in their enclosed heated patio.

05

Fort Tryon Park

Riverside, Dr To Broadway, Manhattan

Fort Tryon Park

Sure, we love Central Park but the change of season calls for a change in parks! Fort Tryon Park is an 8-mile long park with scenic views of the Hudson River and a great spot to soak in the upcoming Fall foliage. Plus, this park has the largest dog run in Manhattan, volleyball courts, ping pong tables and a gazebo to hang out in.

06

Brooklyn Brewery

79 North 11th Street, Brooklyn

Brooklyn Brewery

79 North 11th Street, Brooklyn

Cheers to local craft beer! Spend the afternoon (or night) at Brooklyn Brewery. Grab a table in the tasting room and check out their list of beers, ciders, and wines on tap. They offer a selection of rotating snacks as well. Note: if you’re interested in a brewery tour, you’d sadly have to leave your dog at home.

07

Gruit Garden + Eatery

252 Empire Boulevard, Brooklyn

07

New to the Brooklyn scene is Gruit, a kosher beer garden serving unique cocktails and a rotating selection of craft beers. The food menu is geared towards more of the adventurous eaters with plates like corn-flake fried chicken, Spaetzle with chicken confit, and beef cheek stuffed cabbage. Outdoor and indoor seating is available for your party of 3 to sit back and relax.

08

The Red Hook Winery

175 Van Dyke Street, Brooklyn

The Red Hook Winery

Sittin’ pretty right along the water in Brooklyn is The Red Hook Winery. Stop in for a glass of wine and stay for the views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan right across the water. To make the most of your stay, we suggest ordering a flight off of their tasting menu - 4 selections for just $18.
