New York’s favorite Halloween parade is back and 2021 celebrations are sure to make up for lost time. This year’s event was made possible due to a donation by ​​New Yorker and financial adviser Jason Feldman, who donated $150,000 to ensure the parade went on. "This is the best medicine for our city," he told the Daily News. "It’s just such a fun, free-spirited thing. Everyone gets to be themselves." Jason's right. Don't by shy; don your scariest, kookiest, or funniest 'fit and come out and join the procession.

Combining the age-old art of pumpkin carving with light and sound installations, this event is a true Halloween Dream. The pumpkin carving is so ornate and intricate, we're not even sure if they're real [they are]. Hudson Valley October tickets are already sold out, so make sure to secure tickets to the Long Island location while you still can!

This soiree comes complete with magic, mystery, a feeling of lingering spirits nearby, and 4 miniature cocktails, of course. Based loosely on the artworks and true story of Spanish painter Francisco Goya, House of Spirits weaves its guests through a chilling storyline of a young couple who lost their child. During a span of two hours, expect to be immersed and enjoy an array of experiences including “macabre magic, sinister séances, tarot readings, strange roaming specters, live music, hidden secret games and giant Ouija boards.” Period piece costumes strongly encouraged. Times vary for this 2-hour spectacle, so be sure to check the website and book your tickets in advance.

Just west of the iconic Hudson River is Ulster Park. With plenty of old houses and haunting paths to explore, it's the prime location for a spooky Headless Horseman Hayride. This is no ordinary hayride of course; this one includes entertaining (but also terrifying) theatrics. Best part? When it's over, you're in a a quaint, scenic town -- arguably the best place to spend a crisp fall evening.

Each year, former cast mates of RuPaul’s Drag Race shutdown Halloween in the city with their themed performances. This year the Queen of Darkness, Violet Chachki, takes the stage as host. Come sashay to Terminal 5 to catch fan-favorites including Gottmik, Rose, Aquaria, Jaida Essence Hall, Alyssa Edwards, Kandy Muse, Plastique and Kim Chi. The queens will fall to their demise live on stage and then be summoned back from the dead as stylish zombies for a special grand finale.

Created by the same people behind Sleep No More and The Woman in Black, you know the Witches Ball will live up to the type of hype Halloween events tend to elicit.

Known for their high level production value - CityFox Halloween Festival is sure not to disappoint. With two full days of performances, the festival will be one of the biggest Halloween parties in the city. Expect to see five different stages, interactive rooms, and performances from the likes of John Digweed, Kölsch, Dubfire, Kevin Saunderson, Hot Since 82, Nora En Pure, Ida Engberg, Lee Burridge, and many more. Costume are not required, but strongly encouraged, so dress accordingly.
