When the temperatures start dropping, have yourselves a perfect night in with these recipes for our favorite cozy cocktails.

01

B&B from the Spruce Eats

01

The B&B is a fabulous classic cocktail, made of only two ingredients: brandy and Benedictine (which also conveniently makes it nearly impossible to screw up). Note that Benedictine sells a pre-made version, but we recommend hand-selecting your Brandy instead. Velvet robe, slippers, and Trans-Atlantic accent strongly encouraged.

02

Spicy Ginger Gold Rush from Garnish with Lemon

Spicy Ginger Gold Rush from Garnish with Lemon

When you've exhausted your spiked coffee and mulled wine go-to's, we've got a third recommendation to beat the winter blues (look we're poets, and we didn't even know it). Enter the Spicy Ginger Gold Rush: a drink with a bite that'll warm you from the inside out. Whether it's the bourbon or the ginger that does it, we're not totally sure, but this easy-to-make cocktail is one that packs a punch (in a most soothing way).

03

BHG's Peppermint Hot Chocolate

BHG's Peppermint Hot Chocolate

This recipe is nostalgia in a cup -- with an adult twist, of course. Mint and chocolate make for a lovely pair, and this recipe calls for making hot chocolate the old school way: real chocolate melted down in milk. It's rich. It's festive. It's boozy. And it goes down dangerously easily.

04

Wassail from Food Network

04

A Wassail is actually a traditional English Yuletide ritual meant to inspire a fruitful apple harvest the following year. It's another mulled punch for you to try, and this one's great for those who prefer cider to the traditional wine base. And with its long, slow prep time, this recipe doubles as a little potpourri for the entire home.

05

Hot Pumpkin Buttered Rum from Dine and Dish

Hot Pumpkin Buttered Rum from Dine and Dish

Hot buttered rum is the cozy drink you've always heard of, but never made, right? Right. PSL fans-- this recipe tosses in a bit of pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice, so perhaps opt for this instead. This is essentially a drinkable dessert... so it basically doesn't count right?

06

Peartini from Food Network

Peartini from Food Network

Apples are so last Fall. Besides, have you ever had the perfectly ripe, juicy, fall pear? It's a taste so good, it has inspired a twist on the old classic. Though it may call for a few more steps than the 'tini you know, with the right pears, this one is totally worth it.

07

Brandy Old Fashioned from The Spruce Eats

07

A whiskey drink always feel right on a cold evening. This Old Fashioned is probably best suited for those who don't typically appreciate the classic. More than just a swap in spirits (brandy for bourbon), this recipe calls for some muddled fruit and a splash of soda.

08

Irish Coffee Recipe from The Spruce Eats

Irish Coffee Recipe from The Spruce Eats

Simplicity is key in this one; it's just whiskey, coffee, sugar, and whipped cream. To address the elephant in the room, no, Baileys is not actually an ingredient in the classic recipe. We don't oppose, however, incorporating a little into that homemade whip... to uh, kick things up a notch. Ya welcome.

09

Hot Toddy from The Spruce Eats

Hot Toddy from The Spruce Eats

The Hot Toddy is the white t-shirt of cocktails. A true staple-- you can dress it up, dress it down-- make it feel bougier than it is, or just enjoy it in its classic form. All you need is a little whisky, hot water, honey, and lemon. It's practically tea, right?

10

Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour from Cookie and Kate

10

Give the classic whiskey sour a twist by replacing simple syrup with maple syrup in this drink recipe. The smokiness of the maple offsets the lemon beautifully, and a pinch of cinnamon helps the fall/winter flavors come into full effect. A great sipping drink for a snowy day or chilly night cap.
