Staff Picks: Top First Date Spots in NYC

A list of our fave go-to spots for first dates ^ 👀

01

Banzarbar

191 Chrystie St Apt 2F, New York, NY 10002, United States

01

This spot has a sort of IYKYK attitude. Hidden on the second floor of a restaurant already hidden in an alley exists a tiny little bar which, if you're not looking for, you'll totally miss.

02

Employees Only

510 Hudson St, New York, NY 10014, United States

Employees Only

Perfect for a nightcap, this dark and moody space has a cocktail menu that's well worth the hype, and a railroad-themed Art Deco interior to match. These drinkable works of art -- which are sorted on their drink menu by classics, modern, seasonal and fancy-- are prepared right in front of you by Master Mixologists donning official 'mixologist' coats. Though this is the ultimate cocktail spot, Employees Only has a full dinner menu as well, and it's pretty solid.

03

DTUT Cafe

1744 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10128, USA

DTUT Cafe

Head to this cozy UES spot Mon-Wed evening, and for $32, you can enjoy fondue or s'mores and a bottle of wine for two. Need more convincing? Go on a Tuesday and catch one of their live comedy shows.

04

Bar Belly

14 Orchard St, New York, NY 10002, United States

04

This oyster bar has a cozy, vintage vibe with artfully chipped paint, a pounded copper bar, and old school suitcases and dart board for decoration. Their menu features elaborate cocktails and a daily oyster happy hour.

05

Jadis

42 Rivington St, New York, NY 10002, USA

Jadis

With comfortable couches, low lighting, and an extensive, diverse wine list, Jadis is what we call, a *vibe.* It's cozy, it's romantic AND there's well-curated cheese.

06

Bar Goto

245 Eldridge St, New York, NY 10002, USA

07

Achilles Heel

180 West St, Brooklyn, NY 11222, United States

07

Take a stroll over to Achilles Heel — a local Greenpoint hangout that feels like a cross between a chic speakeasy and non-descript dive. The menu changes weekly, the cocktails are all craft, and the dimly-lit, cozy spot is made all the more cozy with its fireplace.

08

Sake Bar Decibel

240 E 9th St, New York, NY 10003, United States

Sake Bar Decibel

Step down a rickety flight of stairs into New York’s own Little Toyko subterranean hangout. With over 100 sakes available and a mission to bring Japanese sake culture stateside, Sake Bar Decibel will guide through your experience no matter how knowledgeable or novice you are.

09

The Marlton Hotel Lobby Bar

5 W 8th St, New York, NY 10011, United States

The Marlton Hotel Lobby Bar

5 W 8th St, New York, NY 10011, United States

It's the ultimate romantic spot and so much of its appeal is in the fact that it seems to be a well-kept secret among New Yorkers.

10

Pouring Ribbons

225 Avenue B Fl 2, New York, NY 10009, United States

10

The bar switches it up every six months or so with a rotating menu that is themed - each drink comes with a story, that is then perfectly paired with a matching glass, garnish, napkins, etc. to complete the unique drinking experience.
